FOCI 2009 - Activities
FOCI Week is a Fun and Challenging Experience
You will meet and become friends with a group of incoming first year students from around the country and you will become acquainted with the University and the Washington, D.C. area before the academic year begins.
Most days, participants visit at least two service sites, one in the morning, and one in the afternoon. Once during the week, participants also visit a soup kitchen before their morning site.
Previous FOCI activities have included: playing with children affected by HIV/AIDS; serving breakfast at soup kitchens; and working with refugees on job training and resume preparation. You will also enjoy engaging discussions with Jesuits, faculty, student leaders, and other notable speakers. At the end of each night participants will have the opportunity to reflect on the day's activities and the role they intend to play at Georgetown . There will also be opportunities for continued activities during the academic year as part of the program.
