Indigenous Communities in Latin America
In partnership with Community Links International these four week immersion experiences deeply engage students in the indigenous culture through a program that helps develop an awareness of the social, economic, environmental and political factors affecting the indigenous peoples and their environs.
Placements in Puebla, Mexico, Lima, Peru or Cochabamba, Bolivia are available. Students will travel to indigenous villages in the mountains, visit local schools and lead children in daily activities. Additionally, students visit various non-governmental agencies that serve the indigenous communities and engage in daily reflection about their experiences.
